My name is Vinny and I have been an Atlanta Falcons fan since December 30, 1978. That day was the NFC Divisional playoff between the Atlanta Falcons and the Dallas Cowboys. I think I was 10 years old.
That day my parents and I were at some sort of party and the game was on the television. I remember that the Falcons were winning and my father had bet the Cowboys and gave the Falcons points. I think it was 14 points or so. As the game progressed the Falcons had a lead at halftime and my mother started rooting for the Falcons. I guess they were having a tiff that day who knows. All I remember was she told me that we have to root for the underdog and it made dad very mad. It was quite fun at the time. The team just stuck with me since then.
I was an Atlanta Falcons season ticket holder for a few years from 2001 to 2005. I flew down to most of the games but after a while it just proved too much traveling and too expensive. Now I watch every game on Direct TV.
One day I hope to take photos of a Falcons game from the sideline.
