Kathy - First thing is I never show my sites to my family, half the time they don't even know I run websites at all. My goal with my site is not to impress my family and they are not going to use the site so why bother them.

The best advice for people looking over your site would be a younger family member or a neighborhood kid as they are usually hip on things on the internet, judge their reaction and take notes. That is not the best way but it can help.

Your affiliate manager can only offer you suggestions on what is good or bad but most affiliate mangers have no clue as to what your sites goal is. They can try but they don't know that is not in their background most of the time. ( yep that should get me in trouble)

Always great to hear how marketers got their start.

I think the underlying themes to your success is working your tail off, taking immediate action and just keep on going.

What do you do if you've only got family members who only have the most wonderful things to say about your site even if you plead with them for constructive remarks. Same with affiliate managers, except not wonderful, but nothing bad.

You don't want to submit it to any forums because for your reasons given, plus you don't want all them nasty things others have said coming up in search results about your site.

You're not a sadist so you don't want your site totally trashed (plus you've got a real thin skin ) but would like help for it??
